A bounenkai is a common end of the year party in Japan for companies, dojos, and other institutions. Written 忘年会, the characters mean “forgetting the year party,” and is a chance to put the prior year behind us and look forward to new things on the horizon ahead of us.
Here are the details for the event:
Date: December 12th, 2025
Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm
Location: Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai’i, 5th floor.
Our 2025 Bounenkai will be held Friday, December 12th at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai’i, right above the Kenshikan Dojo on the 5th floor, and will be catered by Bamboo Catering LLC. The menu is currently TBD but we will publish it as we have more information. Waitstaff provided by Bamboo Catering will be on hand to provide service and serve adult beverages at an extra cost. Our event is limited to a total of 40 people. You’ll want to order one ticket for each member of your party.
Come celebrate with your fellow students and families, as we look back on the prior year and look forward to new things in the future for Aranami Dojo. We hope to see you there!
